Preface

T-minus 5 days until my arrival in New York.

I wish I could say I am composing this blog from a posh cabana in Ibiza while sipping on mojitos.
In reality, I am currently parked in the local Dairy Queen parking lot pirating internet, as our connection at home has been down all month...

I was hesitant to do this whole blog thing. When I think of blogs, egocentric middle schoolers and self important people oblivious to the possibility that no one really cares to know what he or she ate for lunch that day come to mind. Not to mention the puzzling phenomenon that is Twitter...of which the lure for completely escapes me.

Ah well, I decided to leave the blogspot thing to fate; if I could secure a half decent blog URL name, I would do it, if not, no loss. I got my second choice, so I figured 'eh what the hell, why not?' Even if no one ever reads the thing, at least it will serve as a temporary appeal to my vanity.

The pretext for this blog is my pending internship in New York City. It's with Oxford University Press. I will be reporting to work on Madison Avenue for the coming 10 weeks.
Hellz yahhhh.

As for the rest of my summer, all I have to show so far is:
-Lainey's graduation/various grad parties
-Approximately 16 Route44 cherry limeades
-Seasons 1 and 2 of The O.C.
-Average of 11 hours of sleep/day

Thus...New York has a lot to live up to.
